Our standard samples measure approximately 35 x 110 x 12 mm and take approximately 1 week to arrive within the UK and 2 weeks outside of the UK.

Please note that the material varies both within the panel area and between panels, so a sample will only give you a general indication of what a full-sized panel looks like.

We therefore recommend reviewing images of the full-sized panels on this website.

You can order samples below via Paypal (note you do not need a paypal account to do this and can pay by credit/debit card).  When your order is complete and the samples are on their way to you in the post you should receive an email to serve a basic invoice/receipt.

On occasion you may not be able to purchase samples because they are out of stock – we hope to keep this to a minimum but if this happens, please come back a week later when we should have made up more.

Do you send out free samples?

We are a very small business, and as a general rule we cannot send out free samples to design studios, but we are happy to refund the cost of the samples upon the purchase of full-size panels.

If this is going to be difficult for you, then please get in touch to discuss the project. One possible option is that we offer the samples to you on loan for 1 month.

If you are a commercial materials library or university materials library we can send you a sample set FOC for your reference – please email us with your delivery address.

I’d like to receive a sample of a past material.
We rarely make extra panels of our past materials or custom materials so we are unlikely to be able to offer you such samples. On occasion we may have a sample that we can offer on loan but usually you will need to commission us to develop a new custom material for you based on the raw materials we have access to at the time.

I am a student – can I have a free sample?
It’s great that Smile Plastics is providing inspiration for your work, so we want to make sure that you can see a physical set of samples for your reference. If your school/university does not already have a sample set in their materials library, then please get in touch with with owner of the materials library to request some samples from us. We will be delighted to send your materials library some samples for you and your fellow students’ reference. If you’d like samples to keep for your own tests etc then you will need to purchase them on this website.
