'What's the Future of Desire' by Colour of Saying is a special Material Collection project commissioned to provoke future perspectives on materiality. The collection comprises 50 innovative in-production materials curated with information graphics on Alba, highlighting key material qualities and often unseen properties. The aim was to create a material-driven tactile and interactive display.
What goes up, must come down...
In 2023, Smile Plastics partnered with Surface Design Show, pushing production boundaries with functional, movable Heron-coloured materials. After the show, all materials were reused, repurposed, and reimagined, closing the design loop.
Milk: Wellcome Collection show explores dairy's dark side
Temporary exhibitions require significant resources, often including bespoke materials for each exhibition. Our recycled plastic panels create flexible, short-term spaces with a circular approach to design. Smile Plastics materials were deployed to create a slatted wall and surface finishes for plinths and signage.
